Couldn't this be said about many careers?A lot of things didn't get done or had to be deferred due to covid. Ever tried to do field work from home, you know building trail, etc?
The FS is a different situation for all kinds of reasons that you're obviously not aware of. First being that many of the places where it makes sense to have FS offices, near the National Forest have become wayyyy more desirable. The huge influx of remote workers combined with vrbo business has created a real problem. What used to be affordable and often times undesirable places to live are now the polar opposite. Places where those willing to work in what used to be cheap places for much lower wages is no longer feasible.
Just telling people to commute to the next small town close to the NF doesn't solve shit. That next small town in the NF is experiencing the same thing.
We can also talk about TOS being taken away and wages for FS and other land management agencies being frozen and like always, way under market value compared to the private sector.
You're the typical clown with all the complaints but no solutions. Or, because you don't live it, have ridiculous and unrealistic "solutions" that make as much sense as a soup sandwich.
Carry on with the faux outrage...
Including this webpage, people love the electricity yet champion job loss and budget cuts.
Power Generation almost all of you advocate to close. Thoughtfully so at times. Yet you can't live without it. Spent more time in WY than I care to admit. Know more about the grid than most. Wind and solar won't keep the world moving just yet no matter how good you feel about yourself.
I absolutely respect what you do. Have for a long time. Nobody is owed a easy life. We all make sacrifices for a greater good.
We are all replaceable.
