NHH, I would say that the Kuiu gear (and this jacket specifically) definitely has more of an athletic fit. I'd hesitate to say it ran small, cause it fit fine, just a little bit snug. In other words, it would be a great piece to layer under clothing but I wouldn't plan on having too many layers underneath it.
