On the field, the Bears would give you the best chance, but the interoffice politics (see K Warren and his stay in MN and at B10) takes the shine off (as does playing in the best conference in the league for the next few years). The other two are dumpster fires. And will just spit out their next hire in two years.I was just skimming a story on the bizarre rules that the NFL has for interviewing and hiring new coaches, especially Lions' and Vikings' coaches to become head coaches.
The rules are ridiculous to me but I'm not Pete Roselle or even Roger Goodell.
Of the three teams which have already fired their HCs so far (Bears, Jets, New Orleans), which, if any, would you be attracted to if you were in those assistant coach/coordinator shoes? Personally, I would plead with the Vikes or Lions respectively to let me stay. I would chain myself to the goal posts before I would let anyone drag me off to any of those three jobs. At gunpoint, I would probably pick the Bears, but it would have to be a Damn Big Gun.
I assume a few other spots open up Monday that may look better.
