Just got back from our pronghorn trip to Unit 7 in Wyoming. Dad and I had a great time, both shooting our first pronghorns within a few hours of one another. Dad shot his at 454 yards with a 50 year old Model 70 "Ted Williams Special" .270 (available at Sears back in the day) within the Thunder Basin National Grasslands, I took mine off of a postage stamp section of state land at 268 yards with a Model 700 25-06. Had a great time. Hopefully we can get a few more of these in the books while dad still has the legs to do it.
Dad shot his at sundown, and we finished quartering it in the dark and hiking back to the truck in a howling wind. It was a lot of fun.
