First pair of binoculars recommendation?

I got to look through a pair (18x I think) on a recent hunt. I really liked them. Very impressive in windy conditions and those times when you can seem to find a stable platform.
The only downside is the glass is pretty meh overall. I’d like them with Razor glass or better.

First pair choices usually come down to 8x42 mid-range binoculars, since they balance brightness, field of view, and ease of use without overcomplicating things. Models like Vortex Diamondback HD, Nikon Monarch M5/M7, or Leupold BX-1/BX-2 sit in a strong entry-to-mid tier and tend to hold value well. Buying used can make sense if condition is verified and warranty is transferable, especially with brands like Vortex or Leupold. Swarovski, leica too, Check out used pairs or demo if you want to save money. As long as the glass isn’t scratched they will last forever.
