I know they're nothing like yall out west are used to seeing, but these are pretty big for us. We've got about 20,000 acres burning in VA, mostly on National Forest. With hot, dry, and windy weather expected through the middle of next week, I expect they'll keep growing. One of the fires is really close to a little hunting honey hole that I found last fall... Though, I imagine this will actually improve the hunting in the next few years as we get some new growth.

I expect we will be seeing a lot of fire activity this year. Colorado just recorded its driest March on record. Our snowpack isn't looking very good. This would be the year to draw a goat or sheep tag, as you could start scouting when the draw results come out. Last year it was late July before you could get into some of our high country.

That's pretty dry Oak, so how will that affect the fishing and elk hunting in the Uncompahgre drainage this fall?

The fires here are pretty well contained, looks like about 39k acres or so. On the plus side the grouse hunting should be good in a couple years.
