Ollin Magnetic Digiscoping System

Fear of Prime Numbers?

Giving you crap about spelling. How you can turn down a HiLine cartridge is beyond me. :D

Don't prime numbers need to be integers? So anything that is 0.xx (.xx) can't be prime by definition. So metric system is required which would mean 7 is prime so tons of prime number options. I am just saying, though if everyone wants to keep this thread alive and going for the week, please ignore my post and discuss. Oh if you are including decimal, 223 is a prime number. Just saying. Unless you insist on 2 decimal point precision then, DOH!
Prime numbers are any numbers above 1 that have only two factors, and must be whole numbers. So, the poster who said 410 missed the mark on that one.
For the sake of this discussion, the OP needs to tell us if we are using the customary decimals (.22) or not (22).
BTW, a number is either prime, or composite, or it is 1. Zero is neither since zero has no value.

I'd read years ago that there was actually a 23 cal cartridge but can't remember what it was called. Well was a 22 something but used 23 cal bullet's as I recall. Found it Ackley Vol 1. 230 Ackley 230 cal bullet's at 60gr, 70gr and 75gr. 60gr bullet w/45grs 4064 claimed 3990 fps. 75gr bullet w/46grs 4350 at 3510 fps. It was the old 228 Ackley Mag case necked up to 230 cal. Then there was the 230 LLF developed by the L.L.F, Die shop in Eugene, Ore 243 win necked down to 230 bullet's. 70gr bullet w/45grs H380 at 3635 fps. Ackley vol II has the 230 Ackley short. 75gr bullet w/42grs 4350 at 3373 fps. them misprint I think has the 75gr bullet w/44grs 4350 at 3905 fps?

Amazing some of the cartridges in Ackly's manuals. 22 Eargesplitten Loudenboomer actually did exist. Expermintal cartridge made for Robert Hutton. Wanted to set the world record velocity for a 22 cal cartridge. 378 Weatherby necked down to 224 w/40* shoulder Claim they fired a 50gr bullet 4600 fps w/105grs H570

Let’s not be neglecting those old faves: 307 Winchester, 351 & 401 Winchester Self-Loading, 577 Tyrannosaur (should proprietary count?)
;)
It is interesting that several prime number calibers seem to be commercialized as round number variants (270 vs 277; 32s vs 313). The 223 and 257 groupings seem the exceptions.
I will freely admit to thinking of prime numbers as antisocial...which I also identify more with each year.

Bro I have like 150 followers on Instagram so basically an influencer... trust me... this is like a retire as millionaires idea
Can I be your Chief Marketing Advisor?

I have all sorts of ideas; pastel coloured hats, fanny packs, Yeti tumblers, stickers, fake tattoos, etc. I already have parterships lined up with Mtn Ops and UA. I can turn this caliber into the new 6.5CM and make sure everyone hates it!

Seriously though @brockel
.223 rem
.243 win
.257 weatherby
.264 win mag
.270 win
.284 rem
.308 win

Nosler
26
27
28
30

Why no 23 or 29?

.296 win or rem

The average difference between calibers is pretty small then a big jump between .284 and .308 🤷‍♂️
