I’m surprised there aren’t more Kershaws on here! Sure, Benchmades etc. are nice but I lose way to many knives to spend to much on a edc.
I have a few requirements: deep carry clip, assisted opening and just the right size lol. Also prefer liner lock.
I got a Mini Bugout knockoff from Amazon awhile back to try and hated it- no assisted opening and couldn’t stand the sidelock or whatever they call that.
Sadly my knives are much more than a cutting tool. Screwdriver, hammer, prybar, etc.
Therefore I prefer the $30-60 Kershaws!
The Vortex version above was a gift and it’s ok but a little big for me. The bottom one is my favorite. I think it’s called the ‘Outcome’.

Am I the only one who prefers a serrated edge? Seems they are becoming less popular.

I used to carry a few half serrated cheapies. Never felt like I had enough plain edge to be useful and most of the serrations sucked. Plus both parts were a pain to sharpen. Went to a plain edge always now that I can actually sharpen and won’t ever go back.

I think it’s a little bit of gamble whether you get a good one for not, but for a $10 you don’t have to feel bad about using as a pry bar it’s probably worth the chance.

I flip between a few different knivea but this is today. Pretty typical for work. I love my Spyderco Endura4 but the Byrd CaraCara2 is much cheaper if I lose it at work. Same size and similar feel. I like the lockbacks more and more because I can open them and close them easily with gloves on. Streamlight and LM Sidekick have been a constant for at least ten years.
