Onx has a new live tracking feature that updates the position every 5 seconds with members of your group. I can see all the benefits for safety but can see the potential for negative abuse. Would you consider this ethical? Knowing your states communication laws while hunting do you think it is legal?

one of my pet peeves is when hunters go to social media regarding laws. Please don’t take what other people say regarding laws as definitive. Contact your LEO who would be enforcing the rules in your hunting area. Their contact info should be readily available.

Garmin Rino GPS units had a similar feature 15-20 years ago, it was very useful in certain situations. I could see the value in helping organize deer drives and keep them safe.

Is it any different than weird parents tracking their kids location? What “negative abuse” are you suggesting? Are there any positive abuse situations?
