I have read through many of the forums for shed hunting tips and other places online but I was wondering if any experienced shed hunters have tips for using platforms such as google earth and onx for potential shed hunting spots if you don't have much personal knowledge about an area? Does anyone focus on winter concentration areas as well as migration corridors and then looking for feeding areas, south-facing slopes, bedding cover to narrow down where to search or why you may chose one area over another based on terrain? Also thought it would be a good idea to through in some bigger bins and a tripod to try glassing for shed too. I'm planning to do some hunting for elk sheds once the season opens.

Usually it is going to be where you see wintering animals before they shed. I've always had luck in the south facing slopes within 5-10 miles of a WYGF feedground . I know they are there in the winter.

Look for the Winter range maps the CO GF puts out.

Check fencelines along hayfields.

My best set I found glassing during my hunt. (recolored)

in my mind I read that as "escouting" in a New Mexico Burqueno accent...
