Hi all,

I drew the S108/131/132 archery bull tag. Hoping to find anyone that has been in those units, even if it was for something else. Any help is appreciated, feel free to PM

Congrats and welcome to Hunttalk.

This is the south of Gondor tag from Aug 25th - Sept 16th, right?

I drive through that country a couple of times a year. I expect they will still be pretty high on the slopes in this season. Glass and stalk early and calling during the rut later. Aspen pockets and secluded basins are your friends.

If you haven't watched all the Fresh Tracks Nevada archery elk content, I would. Not a tutorial, but you will pick up a lot from them. Seems like if you can find them the bulls are fantastic.

Are you the "James" that is asking about 131 on GOHUNT? Lots of good intel there.

Do call the Ely NDoW office and ask to talk to the region bio. They will be very helpful. Not going to tell you where to hunt, but can tell about migration patterns and elevation belt by date, etc.

Good luck!

If the bulls are rutting which they should be by mid Sept. the bulls probably will not be up high in secluded aspen basins.
They will be down low looking for the cows. Find the cows and the bulls won't be far away. Listen at night for where the bugles are coming from.
