Either sex elk tag.

So I just noticed that my bull tag just went to either sex this year. The tag takes 0pps to draw. Will there be a trend in more applications due to this? Just wondering if any of you have seen this happen. May need to focus my attention on a different unit.

We would all need much more info than that to say for sure. In general, you probably don’t have much to worry about. Are you a resident or non-resident? Non-residents won’t be as excited about the possibility of a cow after all that travel. Is a cow tag cheaper than a bull/either sex tag in your state? NR’s aren’t going to be as excited about adding the possibility of a cow to their tag if a cow only tag can be purchased at a significant discount. Can you buy a cow tag over the counter? Even if the hunt takes zero points to draw, if you can buy a cow tag OTC, you could just do that and build a point.

It may have some effect, and some of the things mentioned above will have a different effect depending on how you would answer, but generally, I would doubt it would change things all that much. I’ve been wrong before .
