Or it would be, but I don't think people in the suburbs of DC would like that too much.

When I was in DC in July, the only wild animal I saw was a whitetail deer feeding along the Expressway as the taxi drive hauled me to the airport. Given the constraints on gun/knife (probably bow) ownership in DC, I wonder how they control them? Given the traffic, I suspect mostly with vehicles.

Bill Heavey that writes for field and stream, often writes about a friend that thwarts poachers in the parks and suburbs around DC. If I remember correctly she says crossbows are the poacher weapon of choice. The deer population near DC is something to behold. There are counties where deer collisions are an expensive option on car insurance.

My favorite Bill Heavey story highlights his all-time favorite deer stands. He was in a travel lane between bedding and food source (corn if I recall correctly) and from his stand he had a clear view of the neighbors big screen tv!!

I have seem some toads along the beltway outside of Baltimore. The DC beltway has a lot more walls surrounding it however the lack of hunting pressure means there has to be some big boys running around that town also.
