Went Sage Hen hunting Sunday for a few hours. Went where we ususally see some when deer hunting. Never ran across a single bird. BUT, I did take the coyote calls and made three stands while out there.
Stand #1: should have stayed a few more minutes, got up and started on up the ridge and then saw a coyote at the head of the draw.
Stand #2: Coyote came in from my blind side, lets just say that during the pandimonium that insues after having a coyote all but jump on you, you can miss a running coyote at 20 yards with a shotgun.
Stand #3: coyote came in from below so I could see him coming in.

I haven't been doing much Predator hunting for a few years, and never did use a shotgun much, those of you who do what size shot do you prefer?
