Dumb Question

Strictly speaking as a rifle hunter for antelope, I pay more attention to the sun location than the wind. As the others have mentioned, watch for the crosswinds for your shot.

With a rifle, I wouldn’t worry much about it.

With a bow it matters!

Do they find things like vanilla, anise oil, etc. attractive?

Yes it matters, second to vision in my opinion. My first antelope hunt I was told not to pay attention to scent & that was way wrong, cost me a few good bucks on blown stalks. I don't think they smell ad well as a mature white tail or bull elk though.
