I just happened to see the Top 5 stories at MSNBC Kind of an interesting list. And they all look like Dubya's failings...

  • • Spain opposition in upset victory</font>
  • • Suicide bombers kill 11 in Israel</font>
  • • U.S. gas prices at record high</font>
  • • Putin easily wins Russian vote</font>
  • • 4 U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq</font>

MADRID, Spain - Voters ousted Spain’s ruling party in elections Sunday, with many saying they were shaken by bombings in Madrid and furious with the government for backing the Iraq war and making their country a target for al-Qaida.

With 99 percent of the votes counted, the Spanish Socialist Workers Party soared from 125 seats to 164 in the outgoing 350-seat legislature. The ruling Popular Party fell from 183 to 148.
Secretary of State Colin Powell said he was concerned with a lack of openness in Russia’s presidential election and “a level of authoritarianism creeping back” into Russian society. National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice also expressed concern.

But Powell said he did not think Russia was reverting to the hard-line ways of the former Soviet Union.

“Russians have to understand that to have full democracy of the kind that the international community will recognize, you’ve got to let candidates have all access to the media that the president has,” Powell said on “Fox News Sunday.”

Sounds to me like the Spanish need to grow a pair. "It's OK as long as it happens to someone else. Don't do anything to provoke them and maybe they'll leave us alone." Chicken chits.

Furthermore, which is it? Is Iraq linked to al-Qaida or not? My friendly neighborhood news network tells me all of that was just BS to trick the American people into supporting the war in Iraq. So the Spanish logic is flawed, isn't it?

Yes DG; Iraq is linked to Al Quaeda and so are Spain, Germany, and France. My first knowledge of this came in 1988. I can not say any more on the subject at this time. I am not sure that Al Quaeda is responsible for the bombing in Spain; I'm thinking they are not. It is not normal for that group to accept or announce credit for their activities. Generally, their leaders are much smarter than that. Ask yourself what purpose it would serve Al Quaeda to conduct a bombing in Spain, where they are relatively safe from the authorities, and then claim credit for it. What would they gain? This looks to me like a set-up; but, I'm not familiar enough with the local current politics to offer a suspect.

Elkgunner, you think we should say to the Arabs, hey kill whoever you want, take back all the land you have ever been on like your religion says, just sell us the oil cheap? Next week, the same, just sell us the oil cheap. That's not the solution.

You're thinking is pretty off on most of these posts, to me.

PAWCLAWS, I have a suspect (group) for the Madrid bombing, but it has nothing to do with Al-Queda. And now the GUNNER, claims the U.S. President runs the world?

Nope. Never worked for the company, nor have I ever been to the farm; well at least inside the fence. Good question though! I would like to tell you how I came by the information; however, I think that possibly the requirement which led to the information being revealed may also be classified. I'm not certain; but, better safe than missing! Who are you thinking Ten Bears?

I just thought maybe you were somebody they way you posted about confidential info, i guess not ;)

A good friend of mines dad just retired from CIA in Fairfax, for the last 20 years he's been a foreign intelligence analyst, he absolutely hates Bush for his misinformation.

I dont like to get him started, he can rant for hours about Bush.

p.s., Ten Beers in the CIA, i almost hurt myself laughing. I thought he was in the northern idaho militia

RD, :D don't hurt yourself.

PAW, off the top of my head, Basque interests would be my first guess.
...better safe than missing!
(I don't feel much like suicide either) Couldn't have said it better.

"Sounds to me like the Spanish need to grow a pair. "It's OK as long as it happens to someone else. Don't do anything to provoke them and maybe they'll leave us alone." Chicken chits."

Right on Statement gibson.

Go Bush.
The rest of them need to grow some %&^#,and start acting like men that would defend our country and not hide there liberal head's in the sand because they are to chicken chit to take a stand.

It's time these other countrys took a good look at Bush's firm hand on terror and applyed it ,maybe it would slow down this crap in there country also.

I shudder to think where we would be now had Al Gore been elected!!!!!

That would probably be my first thought as well. I don't think it was my second thought because if it was it really backfired! Rocky I don't believe the fact that there is an Al Quaeda connection among the mentioned aboves is classified; although at the time I accessed that information it was indeed classified SECRET; I think just the rationale behind the need for that access may be classified; therefore, I won't discuss that purpose or rationale. I think I still have a friend or two in the CIA; several retired ones. All, good people.

Rocky, you cracked me up on both of those.... Mistaking Paws for Somebody.... :D

And then putting Ten Beers and the first initial of "Intelligence" in the same sentence. :D :D

Ten,
I think you should think before you post and make accusations that ETA is responsible for the Madrid bombings. There is ZERO evidence to tie ETA to the Madrid bombings, so far.

Maybe you should wear your helmet when you ride your ATV....

Well I'll be damned you finally got something right! :D Paws "ain't nobody!!" Unlike, some others, PAWS knows who he is and his relative worth in the universe. Paws is happy with who he isn't!! :D
