Got myself pretty damned fit for my last trip to Montana last October chasing Elk and Deer.
But it wasn't until today i realized that i have let things slide a little in relation to keeping fit, note to self... start getting fit again!
I had already walked across the valley and dropped back to the opposite side, i glassed back i couldn't believe it, 4 fallow deer stopping feeding and walking, i ranged them but at 500 yards with my .243 i thought better get running before they crossed into another private area.
So off i ran, about 1000 yards and caught them just about to jump the fence, ranged it at 200 yards and nailed it.
Then i gutted it and started the drag back to the road, no altitude but wet slippery steep fields, darned knackering!
But it was a stunning morning and way off in the distance is Dartmoor, quite spring like today with the birds singing.
