Do any top new country stars

I wrote you a new modern country song Bigjay73:

Verse:
Tonight we're going to have a good time/the studio execs demanded
You're looking in good in tight blues jeans/but you're looking empty handed
Take this basic red solo cup/we have your beer of choice
For all the ladies we have Bud Light/And we have Bud Light for the boys

Chorus
It's time to sell out to the highest bidder/and get that big money
Get on your best tight blue jeans/you're my selling out honey

Verse:
I couldn't hack it making other music/no one would write songs for me
But I knew a way I couldn't go wrong/so I changed to modern country
I already checked off tight blue jeans/I knocked Bud Light off the list
But is there possibly a cliche left/one more I could have missed?

Chorus

Verse:
Riding a horse I don't own myself/driving pick up trucks with big muddy tires
Swimming in a river or a lake when its hot/Drinking Bud Light at a 4th of July bonfire
Hunting deer or ducks on a millionaires ranch/fishing for bass on a millionaires boat
This is how a modern country song probably gets wrote

Chorus (repeat 18x)

You're welcome. Provided Alison Krauss doesn't release anything this year, you can just mail me my Grammy, thanks.

“The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.”
― Hunter S. Thompson

I’m not a fan of new country or the singers, but Hardy writes his own songs and songs for other musicians. He has been successful at doing both.
I hate new country ( the mainstream radio stuff) plenty of newer good stuff that doesn't make it there. HARDY has some good tunes. Me and the kids blast "favorite country song".

Edit there are a couple newer artists I dont hate. Riley Green comes to mind.

There’s definitely worse stuff out there. The only reason I know who he is, is because he’s from close to where I grew up. That is a decent song.

I always figured everyone talented had a ghostwriter. Even just the one hit wonders that blew up. That’s good about Hardy, I didn’t know that. I like “Rednecker”

You know, I just heard on the radio that Bob Segar didn’t write “old time rock and roll” but changed a ton of lyrics, adding the jab at disco among other things, but still didn’t take credit for the song. Gets nothing from it to this day. Crazy!

Grew up in Alberta where old-school country was forced upon me. That stuff makes me puke. I’m a big fan of the New Age country stuff like Morgan Wallen, Chris Stapleton etc.

Now is the golden age of whatever kind of music you like best, as long as you're cool not getting it from the radio. There's always been a major part of country music that was performer focused and not singer-songwriter focused. Depending on what kind of country you pine for, you might be surprised by who was writing their own stuff.

Even artists that write their own still sing songs written by others. This isn't a new thing.

You'll never have another Alan Jackson. 35 # 1's 26 written by him. But like some others said singers not writing their songs has been pretty normal

I was so happy when I found out Trace Adkins actually wrote "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk", I was afraid he was just an imposter! :)

edit: I just found out I'm wrong!
