Yep. There is another AP article that was in todays Scottsbluff paper, but it hasn't been posted online yet. They actually had to test it on healthy elk to be sure. Tested on 3, and all three are going to have to be put down. Sad to do that, but if it helps the overall population I guess it is one of those necessary evils. Supposedly the elk that were dying were from Colorado herds and they did not build up any resistance to the acids.
That is some what of a relief that it wasn't a pathogen that had some how made it out of a lab some where and was going to get all of our beutiful elk....Thanks for the latest...
Well, they think the elk that were dying were from a CO herd that migrated north. SO.......they were probably the offspring of those disease infested ranch raised elk that were released rather than shipped out because the breeders/owners were too lazy to take proper measures to get rid of them.
Here are some links with many stories on the Brucellois issue and many other conservation topics incase anyone is intrested. And if anyone is thinking I'm for wolves from the link.... no I'm not but this guy does a lot of shit with wildlife issues and other conservation issues. It's a great site to watch WTF is going on with the Western states. http://www.forwolves.org/ralph/stories.html
