Late November hunting a piece of state land for a bull. Giant willow thicket at the bottom of it with a creek. I'm walking back to the truck after finding nothing but cows and catch movement in the creek bottom and he busted out at 50 yards. Passed on a few smaller bucks already, and with a day or two left in the season and a downhill drag I sent it

Nice deer, guys. I've never actually killed a buck of my very own, but I had this one hanging on my wall for a long time, and just pretended it was mine. Then I got hard up for some Friday money and sold it. Please ignore the cool porn 'stache and sweet shades.

I hope I can get my first buck this weekend.....

Oldest buck I've shot. Sent the incisor into the lab and they aged him at 8 1/2 years old. Had pictures of him from the year before and he was quite a bit bigger the year before.

Texas 2008.

New Mexico 2009.

First 2 had pretty poor field photos, but I really like this one I got with my son back at the house.

New Mexico 2011. (about 99% sure that was his shed that I found earlier that morning)

My wifes grandpa shot this deer. 37 inside, I'm ruined for life looking at this thing each day and then seeing a "modern" montana trophy of 25 wide and a score of 165-170. Mule deer in Montana have suffered greatly the last 10 years. Sure there are a few every year that are great but the number of them is getting smaller each year.

Good luck on your up coming hunt. I'll be curious to see what size you'll be able to drum up around here.
