Deer - lets see em

Looks like you cheated and shot one off the road while the kid got after it!

Hahaha just kidding, great looking bucks and congrats
Thanks, We hunted about 7 days this year and covered a lot of ground. Both were shot within 1-1.75 miles from Montana hwys. We wear the same clothes elk hunting, no kulu or first light here.

Wanted to start a new thread but I need 10 posts. I’m sure I have an OLD Acc’t here, just don’t have time for forums anymore.

Here’s a video of the one I let walk.

Well, can’t upload videos so how about a screenshot?

I don’t shoot unless it’s better than the last one so I hoped to let my son in law have a crack at him.

And this is a week later. Rut had just about or entirely worn down, we’ve got cellular cameras at our protein feeders (2) and he was at the feeder, 500yds away or so, around the corner- out of sight.

I told him to rattle, thinking to a big old toppy (as my best friend and pastor from S Africa would say) will think…fighting??!! That means there’s a hot doe there!

Well…it worked.

I’ve never rattled in a big or old one, just little ones. Brett had the time of his life.

Today is last day of muzzle loader season and I'm unable to hunt so needed to get something done last night or it would be my last chance of the season with a firearm.
Been passing up lots of bucks this size all season and I let him walk by me at 4PM. When he came back by at 40 yards with thirty minutes of daylight remaining I decided to take him. Heart shot and 70 yard death run. Unfortunately I was all by myself so no hero pictures.

Real nice clean eight point. He will make a nice Euro mount and a bunch of good summer sausage.
