And this is a week later. Rut had just about or entirely worn down, we’ve got cellular cameras at our protein feeders (2) and he was at the feeder, 500yds away or so, around the corner- out of sight.

I told him to rattle, thinking to a big old toppy (as my best friend and pastor from S Africa would say) will think…fighting??!! That means there’s a hot doe there!

Well…it worked.

I’ve never rattled in a big or old one, just little ones. Brett had the time of his life.

My son shot his first muley this year then we followed it up down in Arizona hunting with family and he was able to take a good coues deer and I lucked out and got a coues of a lifetime.

This years MN buck. My personal best. Huge body. Hard drag out and most of it was down hill. Got about twice the trimmings vs the young bucks we normally get a shot at.

Today is last day of muzzle loader season and I'm unable to hunt so needed to get something done last night or it would be my last chance of the season with a firearm.
Been passing up lots of bucks this size all season and I let him walk by me at 4PM. When he came back by at 40 yards with thirty minutes of daylight remaining I decided to take him. Heart shot and 70 yard death run. Unfortunately I was all by myself so no hero pictures.

Real nice clean eight point. He will make a nice Euro mount and a bunch of good summer sausage.

Birthday weekend buck for me! Watched him chase a doe around on the hillside for roughly 20 minutes and couldn't get a shot on him. Eventually the doe worked her way down the road i was sitting over, and he wasnt to far behind her. Walked all the way up to 40 yards in front of me, but walking facing directly at me. Eventually he turned and made his way into the woods before turning broad side. Luckily though, with a little bleep and him stopping in the only open spot left for me to shoot. I was able to get a shot off on him as he was quartered away fixing to get right back after the doe! Weighed in at 213, and a inside spread of 17 1/2".

Set up at the back end of a small bean field that had about two acres that didn’t get cut. He came in solo at 4 pm. Had to watch him for a few minutes before a shot was presented.

The buck with the giant brow tines was killed by my grandfather in 1963 just off of Fort Knox res. He was eating honeysuckle in a fence line in the middle of the day. He had guys from all over the country wanting to buy it. He finally sold it. It only had 2 non-typical points!! If I remember correctly, it scored 208 2/8 NT. I dont know where its at now.

The super wide buck was killed by a buddy of mine, in a bean field, just east of my farm in central KY. If it only had some brow tines to match that rack.

That is a genetic trait in bucks in this area
