This morning I came across a "used" Tikka T3x Lite stainless in 6.5 Creedmoor on the rack at Scheels. The sales associate and I looked it over real good and unless the previous owner swapped bolts, barrels, and stocks we come to the conclusion this rifle has never been fired.

Price tag on the gun said $549.99. With the current Spring sale they're running I got another $50 off (purchase over $500) and 5x rewards points which comes to $50 in Scheels gift cards.

Walking out the door with any Tikka for under $600 is a hell of a deal, let alone what appears to be brand new and stainless.

I'm just plum tickled. Here's to another project gun! Yeehaw!

I don’t have any plans set in stone at this point.

Gonna try and keep an eye out for a Stocky’s carbon fiber factory second to put it in. Until then, it’ll probably get a mountain tactical bottom medal and billet mag and new bolt handle.

I haven’t decided if I want to keep it a 6.5 and chop and thread it, or if I wanna look into prefits. Kinda intrigued by the 6mm creed. I like the idea of a .25-06. Maybe find a different tikka barrel in 7mm 08.

Haven’t even thought about glass yet. Everything else in the safe wears a Leupold, but I’ll do my due diligence and check out some others as well. SWFA, Athlon, Burris, Sig, Zeiss, Maven, and Trijicon will all get consideration.

While you're looking into glass, another to keep in mind is Crimson Trace.
I've been using their Hardline and Hardline Pro series for a few years now.
Good glass, good fit and finish, controls are smooth and tracts well.
I'd put it on par with my Ziess Z4 at about $300 less expensive.
