You all probably know i am not too crazy about gun hunting. So since my bow hunting didnt lead to a big buck i figured i would try going with the smoke pole today. Weather sucked, warm and rain. I didnt see a deer until 1pm and then saw 7 before the day was over. I did pass on a small 8pt (4X for the sheep lovers) Maybe i am nuts but i figured i would rather shoot nothing than this one.
I used a pop up blind for the first time, man i like it! this buck came in to a thicket of pines i was in and lay down 60 yards away. I watched him chew cud for 20 minutes before some doe came and lured him 25 yards right past me. Sorry the pictures are crappy but he was moving fast. He chased them around a little opening for 5 minutes with his nose to the ground.
