Thinking I need a new elk gun. Love my 270 and it works well but I'm a fan of bigger.

CVA Apex in 35 Whelen is my current thought. Anyone have experience with the 35 Whelen?

+1 on reloading.

It's a great caliber. Mine's on the right.

Ben, the butterknife bolt handle and barrel on that jewel always brings a smile of appreciation.

The 35 is pretty popular with guys that like to tinker with loads because of all the handgun bullets that can be loaded. That seems to be a selling point for a lot of guys.

No. I'm sure I could bribe someone if needed.

Is factory ammo hard to get?
Before I'd get a new gun, I'd go to Sportsmans or Cabelas and spend the money on a reloading set up. It'll make all the ones you currently have much more fun and interesting. Then you'll have more excuses to drive out to Tooele Co and shoot stuff. If you're all that family with the Skull Valley area, some guys set up some pretty cool places to shoot near White Rocks.
