Cutting Carbon Barrel?

Hey all, I'm thinking of going suppressed at some point. I have a Bergara with a carbon barrel and it is 24". The reason I haven't gotten a suppressor yet is because of the increased length and weight. Ideally I'd go to 21" or 20" and have a 6" suppressor. Has anyone cut a carbon barrel? Is it possible? The rifle is a 6.5 PRC - if I go that short, does it just make sense to get a 6.5 creedmore because of velocity loss?

It's more involved than cutting a steel barrel and I know some smiths have taken some special steps to do it. Not sure how thick the liner is for making threads.

A 6.5 PRC shouldn't lose much more FPS per inch than a creedmoor.

You're probably going to have to get a shorter barrel.

You can only thread where the metal is shton the outside of the barrel.
You cannot thread carbon fibre.

If the bore sleeve is of sufficient diameter for threads, a guy could probably add a steel shoulder mated to the face of the cut carbon?

I'm not sure I'd do it, but I think there's folks out there that do.
