I have a Weatherby Vanguard in 6.5 Creedmoor with a 24” barrel. Was thinking to cut and thread the barrel to accommodate my Yankee Hill R2 suppressor. At first I thought 2” but now maybe 4” shorter. Any thoughts ? Thinking at 4” maybe losing 100-150fps which isn’t much

16" still gives you plenty of velocity out to 500+ yards for a 147 ELD-M. 17" is good past 600.

For what it is worth, I am getting 2774fps with a 127gr. Barnes LRX over a fairly spicy charge of H4350 in my 20inch Tikka CTR. Suffice it to say, you can still get plenty of velocity from a 20inch tube.

I’m going to cut a RUM off at 18” one of these days just for you
26 inches forever. But, a suppressed .300 RUM at 18 inches might throw a 124 Hammer pretty good. mtmuley

I cut my 24" 338 down to 22 and added a suppressor. Went from 71 grains of h4350 at 2850fps down to 69.5 grains at 2892fps. With losing 2 inches of barrel. Wish I would have gone down to 20 now, but 2 inches isn't an issue!
I have a CA 28 Nosler 26” barrel that I use a suppressor on for most of my hunting. Doesn’t really bother me when I’m out hunting even though it’s long. Would be a real pain to use in the truck everyday , thus wanting to shorten the 6.5
