What is important to realize about CRP when deer hunting? Anyone have any advice on how to properly hunt these areas?

Look for cover or hideaways. Either topography or vegetation of some sort. If there's not a lot of that look for transitions from adjacent properties that have that. The deer want to feel protected so you still have to look for that stuff. It might just look different on CRP property

I would pack a ladder the tallest one you have. Climbing it will give visibility the windier days seem to be the best. Once you see them move in for some close action.

I have just returned from Illinois and was scouting some public land! I was amazed at how much CRP was around that area. The fields were 5 ft tall in the thickest weeds imaginable. I know the deer are bedding there and am trying to think of a clever way to ambush a deer In or around these fields!
I am also curious if other hunters will be drawn to them like a crop field edge?
