Not really......A hired gun for the ag industry subsidized by the US taxpayer.
58% of their funding comes from congressionally allocated money, which is the US tax payer, at least in 2023. The rest comes from cooperators that includes funds from the ag business but also includes counties and state/federal agencies. Not really......
I know how it works....I've worked for the outfit for 32 years. Your opinion is going to be vastly different than mine, and that's okay.
My point is a lot of our funding is provided by the private sector, and the public reaps those benefits without even knowing about our agency and what we do.
Ever wonder why you seldom see wildlife on airport runways?
Those of us who made our living in agriculture can be real dickheads.A hired gun for the ag industry subsidized by the US taxpayer.
The ones I grew up with sure as hell were. Those of us who made our living in agriculture can be real dickheads.
This is the craziest thing I’ve heard in a while:
Doesn’t surprise me at all. The Polis Era (with complete domination of CO politics by Dems) has ushered in a dark period for Colorado ranchers, sportsmen, etc. Completely locked out of the Gov’s office and the majority leaders. This is the craziest thing I’ve heard in a while:
“In the crowd of around 100 gathered in the Governor’s Residence at Boettcher Mansion (not actually where Gov. Jared Polis, his husband, Marlon Reis, and their two children live), they wanted to know why ranchers don’t do a better job of protecting their calves when wolves are around, like you would chickens with raccoons around.
They wanted to know why ranchers don’t adjust the time they breed their cows to coincide with the time elk drop their calves, to deter wolves from eating the cow calves.
And they wanted to know why a rancher would mourn the loss of a calf, when they raise cattle to have them slaughtered for money.”
