I know I'm not the only one here who giggles like a little kid when a 'yote comes running into the calls and I pull the trigger. I'm seriously addicted to chasing yodel dogs, let's use this thread to post up the kill pics and share calling strategy and information. Is there a way to pin this to the top?

I started out my coyote season last week w/my new 'yote killing machine in .22-250, yes in the middle of big game season I know.....Shot a 35# male w/a beautiful thick Montana coat on him, looking forward to the next couple of months chasing these wiley critters.

Question for you guys who tan. I shot a fox with a 6.5 Creedmoor tonight and hit a little low and blew out the bottom on the stomach. When you skin these critters with a big hole like that do you still tube them out or skin them a different style?

If you want the "pelt style" look then yes tube it out and sew up the hole. but if you have a hole in the belly then skin it right up the belly and you won't have to worry about a hole in the tanned hide. The tanned ones I have are like the rug style, not tubed out

I thinks thats what I'll do then. So skin it like you would a bear for a rug?

My favorite time of the year. I don’t get to hit it near as hard as I did before kids but we run a small snare/trapline that the oldest runs with me and we do some calling when the weather isn’t to bitter cold for her. My favorite time is spending time in the garage with her finishing fur.
