Cow elk seasons

I am going to buy a left-over cow elk permit. The season list shows that it opens on September 1 and gives no further info. Last year, there were several season levels for that permit.

Does anyone know if the breakdown will be posted before the permits go on sale on July 17th?

I'm assuming with the date you mentioned that you're talking Wyoming! All the season dates, including what you're talking about, have been posted in the Final Regulations section on the G&F website since well before the draw. Click on this link to see all the elk season dates and quotas:
