Spent a few days down in Arizona chasing javelina with a couple of my buddies.
I usually put in for a party application with my friend Ron and we got lucky and drew a pretty good area this year.
A good friend of mine had an open weekend and decided to ride along and check out AZ and also get out of the cold in Montana for a while.
We started out the trip seeing a bunch of coues deer and a few decent mule deer bucks as well. On opening morning within the first 2 hours, we found 7 javelina and I picked out the biggest boar in the herd and shot him with my 22-250 at 106 yards.
My buddy Joe and I with my javelina:
My buddies Ron and Monty hunted opening morning and didnt find any pigs so we split up for the evening hunt to search more country for pigs.
Monty and Ron found a herd of 15 and Ron shot this one at 125 yards:
We spent a couple days enjoying the warm weather and drove home Monday. Arizona is a great place to spend some time in the early spring...javelina hunting is a good excuse to make the trip.
