I was on a recent website and seen a Cooper Firearms Model 38 Jackson Varminter 22 Squirrel Fluted is that another name for a 22 WMR or a different caliber.

The Jackson Squirrel is Cooper's rimfire rifle. It's chambered in several rimfire cartridges. mtmuley

From what I know (not much) it's a little 22 Hornet wildcat that is intended to be useable for edible small game and varmits. It's loaded with a 30 gr bullet between 2200-2400 fps. Found a pic of it alongside a 22WM.

I stand corrected. Thought it was just a rifle style. Whatever it is, Cooper doesn't show it as avaiable anymore. Custom shop maybe? mtmuley

The local gunshop has two still in stock. Its a really nice rifle. Is it still a rimfire.

Cooper's are beautiful rifles. If the cartridge is based on the Hornet, it's a centerfire. mtmuley
