Aside from most hunting/fishing companies whose views reflect our own when it comes to issues regarding public land, what other (non-hunting) companies align most with what we as public land hunters are trying to achieve or prevent? I.E. Marmot/North Face/Salomon etc. As I take inventory of my gear, I wonder where some of these other companies stand, or if they are just sitting there with their heads in the sand. Has anyone composed a generic message on public land issues and inquired with these "other" companies looking for feedback and support? I would be interested to know so I could support those who support us.

The hiking, biking, and camping crew brings precisely jack sh*t to the fight.

Pray tell, why? They are full of D voters and DS are really the only reason we have public lands after the Sagebrush Rebellion. You don't think a few hunters are the reason, do you?

It is really kind of easy.

If it is a Koch Brothers Company, or an Oil Company, or a Mining Company, they likely don't align with the best interest of Hunters.

If it is a clothing company, they are likely not big enough to have even .0000001% of the influence of the Koch Brothers and Extraction Companies.

So, you can spend a lot of effort trying to figure out if your boots, socks, shoes are aligned with your POV's, or, you can recognize that the politicians taking money from Koch Brothers, Oil Companies and such is the real problem.

(That is not to say other companies don't need watching. Wasn't too long ago that Cabelas got into the anti-hunting real estate business.)

(Also, I really don't believe consumer boycotts are very effective. And, certainly would not be from a small group like hunters.)

Pretty tough fight ahead. Doesn't make sense to me to alienate potential allies. JMO

Im with you on this 100%. I have even been reaching out locally to this crowd. Actually, it was a local coalition of hunters, hikers, and horseback riders that petitioned USFS to stop a proposed access road closure here in east Tn. It can be done. We are going to have to "reach across the isle" on this one.

A big bunch of that crowd is partly responsible for assembling a Public Lands rally in Helena MT next Monday at the capitol in Helena during our biennial legislative circus. Don't know where you're from but why don't you come join a mix of hunters and hippies fighting on the same team. May get to talk to some Libtards and find some common ground exists.......

Jose nailed it. They throw rocks while big oil shoots missiles and buys politicians.
Not alienating them. Just sucks

Koch and big oil never bought a politician that wasn't for sale. Somebody is voting for them. The rock throwers customers vote for someone else. They are all for sale, but who is voting for who?
