Sorry, HT has taking a back seat lately. I’ve been out duck hunting, more like prolonged scouting trips sitting still. I met up with a fellow HTer, @MN_Bowhunter4 , I failed him miserably. We saw ducks but too much fog and other hunters to set a proper spread.



I owe him a proper duck hunt. Hopefully, with southward bound ducks!

I went out on a solo sit to see if any migrators moved in but I found the dead zone between locals leaving and the migration hasn’t happened. It was a great day to be with my pup!





I’m sure the motivation would be more intense if I didn’t have a freezer full of duck.

Only used two boxes of shells!

All equal a successful trip! On to cervids.

Despite the 70 degree temperatures, the wife and I took a doe each! Mine was gift wrapped for me. It walked right up to me, stopped at 5 yards and gave me a window to shoot. Luckily, even I can make that shot.




My BIL rounded out the weekend with a small buck.

With EHD & CWD present, I returned my SD deer tags. I might get out for birds one more time, but with that, my season comes to an end. I hope you HTers have a happy thanksgiving and a merry Christmas!

Thanks for following, I learned that hunting with a young one is doable. I heard horror stories saying my hunting days were over but that was completely false. This is the best chapter of my life so far!
