So I'm going through the CPW website just double checking my points and licenses, ect after the draw. Under my elk tag it sais colorado state wildlife area access active. What does that mean exactly?

You have to have a pass to hunt state wildlife areas in Colorado. That’s your pass

Dear All,
My name is James Aravena and I am from Brooklyn NY. I just got into hunting and I am fortunate enough to the invited to Cedia in Denver sept 3-6 for a conference for the company I own. I'm 21 years old, I know young to own a company but I am doing my best!
I am an insanely fast learner and have been practicing with my bow. I would love to try and extend this trip and make into somewhat of an outdoor adventure. However, I'm not comfortable to go in colorado alone just yet and I have no experience with this kind of landscape. I'm more used to shooting right outside my truck in upstate NY and PA LOL.
If there is anybody in the area somewhat around this period who doesn't mind showing me the ropes this early season (deer I think are in the east plains as I saw online). I would love to even shadow someone to learn and experience. I don't want to be a drag on anyones opening day but I promise to be a good sport.

Just be sure to know the regs on the SWA you might hunt in. They generally have a SWA booklet every year. Some SWAs do not allow camping, others require reservations, some might have "study areas" within the mapped boundaries that you can't access. Overall, great assets for the hunter but just be sure to check the regs.
