Colorado Area 61 Bull

Here are the two recovered Nosler Accubond bullets. Both were fired at about 60 yards and the one on the left was more broadside.

Actually, I was also surprised that neither exited. They were 165 gr "Nosler Customs" from a 30-06. The energy was expended so the damage was done. A 300, etc would have provided an exit hole which would have made tracking better, but of course this one folded up so there was no tracking.

Yup, love those Noslers.

We bought this piece of Redwood Burl when we were in California and I have always wondered what I would do with it. Well today was the day.

The Danish darkened it more than I expected, but it is what it is.

Thanks Bob, and it was nice to talk with you on the phone before and after our hunts. It was sad that yours only worked for your buddy.

Our plan for next year is for Marty to use his PP's and draw an Area 49 hunt. We need to do this while I can still tag along.
