Well we had a rough 5 days elk hunting so after my uncle went home I decided to go give the lope hunting a shot. Drove the main road surrounding the ranch and saw 0 antelope. Drove the two track to the very back corner of the ranch and stopped just below the final ridge top. As I leave the truck I notice a coyote skylined and take off over said ridge to my left. so I proceed to veer to the right a couple hundred when I see I group of does running from where the coyote went. I immediately hit the ground and see a buck trailing them. They make a half circle and almost stop at about 90 yards but speed up again for another 75 yards or so(they are about 125 yards) The buck stops and turns straight on then slowly broadside. boom.... thwack I know I hit him hard as I've never heard quite that loud of sound from that far away. They run over a hill and I only see does. Look over the top and he is laying dead. another Colorado muzzleloader buck 49923.jpeg
