Cold front gumbo

Serious question: potato salad in the bowl, then scoop gumbo on top of it or potato salad in a separate dish???

I have done it both ways. I have been around a lot of heated debates about potato salad and gumbo.

First time I've heard of gumbo and tater salad. To me they don't go together, gumbo is with rice. But I'm from Illinois, what do I know?

The potato salad comes from the Germans that got left in Louisiana after WWII. Louisiana had a lot of POW camps in the middle of the state during WWII.
