CO Unit 30

I am planning an OTC hunt in CO in a few weeks. We are looking at a few places in units 30 and 31, trying to narrow down where we will hunt. I am looking for any information, specifically on the areas near the border between 30 and 31. I have a few specific spots I would like to check out. Any general information about the elk herd, access to public land, or the unit in general would be greatly appreciated. We are not looking for a giant; we are just looking for some encounters, as we only have a couple years of elk hunting under our belts.
