Does anyone have any experience around Matheson reservoir in CO GMU 18?
I’m thinking about picking up a leftover cow tag for first rifle, and I have been looking at this area for a couple of years, just haven’t had the opportunity to get up there. There is private land around the res, which makes it more interesting. The area a couple of miles north and a bit west of the reservoir looks promising as well. If anyone is familiar with this area, please chime in. At least say if it’s a waste of time. First rifle this year starts October 16, so it’s possible there could be some snow up high, which would help.
Anyway, if you want to shed some light here, please do.
