Hello HTers, I’m doing some research for a backup plan of possibly buying a over the counter elk tag in CO. gmu unit 16. I chose 16 for the success rates of 3rd season hunters and wilderness area to possibly use my legs to get away from people best I can. Plus I’m from MN so closer is better for me. I went on my first elk hunt last year, a last season cow hunt in WY. Went 1for2 between my brother and I and now all I have is elk on my mind. I have looked over google earth and onX and have places marked out but looking for insight on hunter pressure, weather, roads and such from anyone who’s been there done that in the area. Anyone willing to exchange some PMs to help out a fellow HTer with some questions?
