CO GMU 11 Advice?

So, the crew picked the dates, and the area, and I'm along for the ride. I probably have the most hunting experience out of the bunch, but not in the mountains and not for elk. So basically a bunch of newbies headed out into the middle of nowhere to chase around some elk. We've got a mix of bull and cow tags for 11 and will be there for the 4th rifle. ANY tips or pointers for this green crew would be MUCH appreciated. My plan is to use their camp as a base site and bring my pack and full gear so I can go get lost if we're not getting lucky close to camp.

I have never hunted that unit, but I would say to be prepared for some serious winter weather that late in the year.

+1! Chains for the truck, cold weather gear and tell someone where you're camping if you're going to be out of cell range.
