CO 76 3rd season bull elk

Anyone have 1st hand experience with the CO 76 3rd season bull elk hunt?

If so, I'd love to chat and pick your brain!

I do not have this tag, but could draw it next year. And could put in some scouting time this fall.

3rd in 76 is a gamble on weather. If the big snow comes early, 3rd is tough. 2nd and 3rd also get a lot of horse trailers and toy trailers from the guys living on the front range. Even with those issues, 3rd can be very good for fellows that make good use of their boots.

Solid unit with good elk numbers and beautiful high country San Juans, steep timber alpine. 3rd rifle season is OTC friendly, lower pressure than earlier ones, but expect snow cold and elk pushed into darker timber or lower spots.
