It was tough sledding but we got it done. I talked to a few others that were successful. None of us were anywhere near a road when we found our animals.

Same here, I was roughly 4 miles from the open road, walked in 3 miles on a closed forest service road that hasn't been open in 10 years and about another mile from that in a clear cut that was logged about 4-5 years ago.
