Just a friendly reminder for the MN people hunting out of state, don't forget the rules as I myself was just reminded of them so I thought I would pass this along. Might apply to other states as well.

"A reminder for hunters who harvest deer, elk, moose or caribou out of state: Whole carcasses cannot be brought into Minnesota. This proactive measure began in 2016 to reduce the risk of chronic wasting disease in Minnesota and bring consistency to regulations. Details are at mndnr.gov/deerimports, in the 2018 Minnesota Hunting and Trapping Regulations Handbook starting on page 63 and the questions-and-answers section on the back cover."

Good luck this season !

I learned about this in 2016 on my way back to MN with a buck. Luckily, I quartered him out and only took his skull cap. Whew!

I got a letter in the mail from the MN DNR reminding me. I have no issue with it but have seen some petitions going around on Facebook protesting it.

Anything we can do to stop the spread of CWD is a good thing, in my opinion. Just wish we’d shut down deer farms here as that would do more than anything.

North Dakota is the same. Now since cwd was found in Montana , everything coming back has to be boned out or quarters with nothing attatched to the spinel column . Skulls have to be skinned and cleaned . Guess I'll just shoot a average 4 point and saw the skull cap off with the sawzall. Easier than cleaning a skull out there .
