Getting the gear together for a run to POW for deer and coho.
Eberlestock went and improved the F1 Mainframe platform. They essentially added all the cool things from a Mystery Ranch. They call it the "Modframe". So now I'm $325 poorer. Proved out the F1 Mainframe system with the cow elk pack out. Now want to test the new frame on POW. All the Vapor and EMOD toys will port over to the Modframe system. So getting everything set up tonight.
Filled out my dehydrated food inventory and went to the Orange Store to replace my busted rolling plastic bin. The new Husky branded one has the same capacity, but is short in length/taller in height. It has a pull out handle so it is not smacking you in the ankles all the time. Quite a bit more robust than the brands I've used before. Replacing it because TSA has broken every one I've used on every POW trip.
I'm borrowing Miss T's Backcountry Mark V in 6.5 WBY RPM for this. 6.5 pounds scoped. I have a load for it. Adequate, but not perfect. I made lighter loads for her with less recoil. The rifle is zeroed and dope charted for this load. 120 grain TTSX over Accurate Magnum. I need to crank out 50 more loads tomorrow. 12 rounds is not enough to trust TSA. I've been bitten before.
If I had time I would work up a Hammer load, but I do not want to be changing a bunch of stuff.
Everything will be sorted and packed and then I'll wait for the green light to go. Off work for the next two weeks either way. Have my license and permit, just need to get a locking tag in Craig and I'm good to go.
Stay tuned.
