Calico buck ?

I got this in an e-mail today. It may be old news and I don't know the truth to the story. (I don't know the guy)

"Here is a buck that a hunter got in Wisconsin . He sent these pictures to a bunch of people to see what he could get and the owner of Cabela's paid him $13,000 for the head and hide. A calico buck, like the one below, is rarer than an albino."

It is a nice looking deer though - a little different.

aren't they called piebalds? or is that something different? Talked to a biologist in Florida and they said it was a genetic thing and the deer were actually smaller than an average sized deer. I shot this doe in Florida, only one I've ever seen on the hoof in the wild. Really wish I would have saved the hide but my Old man grabbed a hold and drug it a ways before thinking about it

That is indeed a "piebald" buck, and a very nice one to boot. They show up quite a bit back in the midwest. Where I used to live along the Ohio river in southern Ind, you would see several every year. They are neat looking for sure.
