Bushnell elite scopes

They are a decent scope but for the money I would invest in a leupold and not worry about the coatings peeling off 10yrs down the road.I had one for a year and a half and next thing I knew the clarity was awfull evedently the coatings were peelling of the lenses

Another vote for a Leupold. Butler Creek flip ups for the rain. You don't need a high dollar Leupold. A used 6x42 or a 3.5-10x40 and you'll be set.

The elites are nice scopes. We have three of them, and they've all worked great.
I don't think they're the best for the money, but they're worth what you pay for them.

I agree with some of the other posts. I've got 3 4200's and they are more than decent scopes in my opinion. That being said, the gun I take big game hunting when I can't afford to have anything go wrong has a leupold on it!

The 3200's are nice, and not bad for the money. That being said my go to gun has a VX-III on it and I think it is worth the extra money.

Natchez Shooting Supply has a sale on some closeout 4200 scopes right now, might be worth taking a look.

I have a 3200 with turrets. It tracks perfect and is as clear as it gets. I bought it because I read that the 3200 and 4200 was rated the best buy for X amount of $ in a few hunting rags. So far i really like mine.
I read someplace recently they may be replacing the 3200-4200 series with something new so there may be some close outs coming on them.

Very good point, sir. They are worth what you pay for them. Haven't had an issue yet with them. I am not flouting one brand over another. Just comes down to what you want to pay for. Myself, I am not willing to buy something just for the name, but rather what works for me in the range I am willing to pay.

Bushnell Elite 4200

I have a 1.5x - 6x on my Ruger .338 WinMag. Here's how it has worked out for me...

Sorry to get slightly off track, but it's January and we all need a little game porn to tide us over! I got my Elite back in 2006, it still clear and going strong; shot the caribou this year about 300 yards out. Have never had a problem with it, other than TSA knocking the crap out of it (and having to re-zero it) after a couple of plane flights.

How did you get your *dog* to smile like that?

Didn't realize she was smiling until I got home and saw the pic...just lucky!

But she wasn't smiling any bigger than me...by the time we took that pic, the moose was dead farther down the ridge as well; when I shot the wolf I interrupted his afternoon nap, and he was unfortunate to stand up and stick his head out where I could see him...

Still carrying my 2009 woof tag in my wallet just in case somebody wants to see what one looks like
