Burris Warranty Tested

Burris Warranty Experience:

I had a Burris Black Diamond Scope that was 8-32x50 I recently sent in to Burris for repair and I can update you on the service I received which turned out to be excellent!

The Black Diamond scope had accumulated some black flecks on the inside of the glass and I decided to send it in to the factory to see what could be done.

After I contacted Burris I immediately received a prepaid shipping label. I sent my Scope in and exactly 4 weeks later I received a response that the scope was unrepairable and that I had a $900 credit to go towards the scope of my choice.

I’m tickled pink by this as the Black Diamond was $800 something bucks 10 years ago and that I wouldn’t be charged or out of luck. For my replacement scope I chose the Burris FFP 5-25x50 with E3 reticle and can’t be happier with it. Extremely clear and nice eyebox and glass. Dials work great!

Anyway I wanted to report my experience to those who may be considering a Burris optic. Vortex and Leupold aren’t the only ones offering a excellent warranty.

That's great and very generous of them. Hopefully you can find a replacement that works out for you. I just wonder what their pricing is with the credit? If you have to buy the new optic from them, but it is at the full retail price it might not be as good a deal as if you could shop around or wait for someone to put the scope on sale. I had a similar deal with a Leica rangefinder that got moisture inside, and they said it was unrepairable so they gave me a $400 credit to be used toward anything in their inventory. The retail price of their "inventory" was so high, that by the time I paid the balance needed with their "credit", I could buy another rangefinder on sale that cost less. Still, it was better than them saying, "It can't be fixed, you're screwed see ya later". Good Luck, I hope you can get another scope that at least compares to what you had. I'm not familiar with Burris optics but I've heard other good things about their customer service which is- It is great and they are willing to take care of their customers.
